May 3, 2026 at 7:55 pmCaught the ferry from the partner land restaurant, and it’s about a 15-minute ride to the island. Once on the party island, it is definitely a unique experience: DJ and bands, fun atmosphere to check out the babes and dudes. Good beverage variety, but food menu is not exciting.
Only a 3 star overall rating because of the return ferry service. We walked to the ferry dock ten minutes early (the return is supposed to leave at half past) to see the boat 5 feet from the slip and the operator just kept backing away. We thought it would come back for the official departure at 1:30, but it didn’t. We waited another hour for the boat to return which showed up at 2:20. The arrivals got off, nine of us boarded and the boat again set off – seven minutes early! It was meant to leave at 2:30, not 2:23. The trip is so short, there is no reason for the operator to leave early like that.
Essentially the bar is trapping you on the island. Be dockside 15 minutes early. The boat boys are literally not waiting for anyone!!!😠👎

May 3, 2026 at 7:55 pmEven though Blarney Island is a classic destination, the Port of Blarney in my opinion is in its own merits an even better place to grab a drink and some EXCELLENT food. The drink prices are going to be better at the Port and the food choices and quality is top-notch for a local bar / eatery.
I had the chicken pesto wrap with their homemade coleslaw and it was off the charts. Katherine had an old school grilled cheese with excellent fries that go up against the best fries out there in Chicagoland.
The young lady that was working the bar all night took care of the majority of customers like lightning and was doing the work of 2 1/2 people. The other guy that was there with her was equally nice and very hospitable also.
