During the tour I noticed that the gym is super nice and clean. Over all, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend to others.

April 30, 2026 at 1:56 pmMy move-in experience at Oak Brook was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Despite paying, I was initially refused my key and told I could not move in due to an employee’s lunch break, which set the tone for the rest of my experience. Since then, I’ve encountered repeated discrepancies, dismissive responses to my concerns, and treatment that has felt unequal and unfair. For the high cost of living here, the level of service and added fees are frustrating and not justified. The only consistently positive part of this community has been the maintenance team.
As a Black woman, I have felt noticeably unwelcome in my interactions with management, and the difference in treatment has been difficult to ignore. Respect and professionalism should be standard for every resident, regardless of background. My rent is paid like everyone else’s, and I expect to be treated with the same courtesy and fairness.
They are currently threatening to tow my vehicle—even though I am a paying tenant—from a parking space I made every effort to properly request and secure, simply because a new resident has moved in across the hall, and they never updated my vehicle information, leaving my car at risk of being towed for the past four months until I received a 5 PM call interrupting a personal appointment to address their oversight.

April 30, 2026 at 1:56 pmIt’s a lovely complex. I was interested in a 3 bedroom but they didn’t have the keys. (?) I was shown a 2 bedroom. It was beautiful. Truthfully it was a little bit more I wanted to pay. Management seemed very nice.

Cockroaches, spiders, sewage coming up drains on the first floor, poor maintenance, high turnover of staff, required fees not included in rent, can’t pay rent online, fines for ridiculous things, bandaids called renovations, adhesive plastic over formica, bad appliances, broken garbage disposal, leaky water heater, very limited parking, “safety” gate is broken a lot and left open, and not really close to anything except 50, light rail, and Nimbus Flats. It is close to a pedestrian overpass that often has political messages plastered on it at which traffic honks at all hours. No grocery stores nearby nor easily accessed by public transportation. IF they cut their rent in half it might be worth it.
