My partner and I met friends at J.R. Neighbors for lunch. Our party comprised of 4 adults, 1 teenager, and 1 pre-schooler. According to my friend, they have the best burgers in Etown! 🤷🏿♀️
There are a few parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant (maybe 5, with 2-3 slots being reserved for handicap). There are nearby parking lots with plenty more parking. As it was a Sunday, we had no trouble finding parking.
There were a few people ahead of us, maybe three different parties. My partner and I did not have to wait to be seated since the friends we were meeting had already arrived and got a table.
We greeted our friends then reviewed the menu. Since it was around 12ish on a Sunday, only the brunch menu was available. Not long after, our waitress arrived to take drink orders. Shortly after that, and after the drinks arrived – pineapple mimosas, apple juice, and water, we ordered our food…mostly everyone had a burger.
I had the Texan burger/sandwich which came on a Texas toast, hence the name, and my partner had the Newberry Smash burger (double). Each came with a choice of “regular” fries or tots. I wanted sweet potato fries, but again, since it was Sunday, only the brunch menu and what was displayed was available. So, I settled for regular fries.
My burger was good albeit a bit messy with the sunny side egg running everywhere! The bacon topping the burger was perfectly done with the right crispy/crunchy consistency. My mimosas was refreshing except I did not get much of a pineapple taste. The fries were fresh and appropriately seasoned, not too salty and not too bland, just right. We were all full from our meals so we did not even consider dessert!
The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded, so the atmosphere was quite. We sat by the windows and were not even distracted by the outside vehicles passing by.
Overall, we had a pleasant experience and would recommend J.R. Neighbors to anyone looking for good burgers in a good atmosphere in Etown.

From the beginning to end her service was AMAZING . She was VERY informative, kind and just all around awesome. The place was really clean , the wait wasn’t little to none, if I ever visit again, I’ll make it my business to stop by, thanks for having such and amazing impact on my family while we were in town. Food was great. Some of the BEST water I’ve ever had.

May 3, 2026 at 10:40 amExcellent first time lunch visit to J.R. Neighbors. Our server, Eddie, was exceptional. He even recommended the Eattown Hot Chicken sandwich with tots and a side of pimento cheese for me. Great choice, Eddie! I also had a 1996 Rickhouse Rita that was very tasty. My husband ordered the Newberry double smash burger with fries. He enjoyed a Buffalo Trace followed by a Johnny Drum, both on the rocks. Thanks to everyone at J.R. Neighbors for a delightful time!

May 3, 2026 at 10:40 amThis place is well worth the the short easy drive off US65. Had the Buffalo Burger and Greens. Both were good. The green were an extra $2, but we’re very, very tasty to my MI pallet.. There is a round about in town and when you come to it it is right before the second exit.. Enjoy. I did.
