We originally booked the Globe Igloo experience, but when we arrived they had some delay and it wasn’t warm as expected. The manager immediately stepped in, handled the situation with such kindness and professionalism, and moved us inside to make sure we were comfortable. On top of that, they generously took the bill on the house, which honestly meant a lot and showed how much they care about their guests.
The staff overall was wonderful, and our waitress was absolutely amazing—attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The food was incredibly good, from start to finish, and everything exceeded expectations.
What could have been a disappointing situation turned into a truly memorable evening because of the outstanding management, service, and hospitality. This is how great restaurants build loyal customers. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back.

The food was truly excellent across the board. I was particularly surprised by the breakfast steak—I didn’t expect it to be so delicious! We also tried the eggs benedict and the yogurt; the quality of every dish was top-notch. Even the coffee stood out with great taste and a rich flavor profile.
What made our visit even better was the service. Owen took great care of us; he was incredibly attentive, professional, and friendly, making us feel very welcome throughout the meal.
I’m already looking forward to returning to San Antonio so I can try their dinner menu. Highly recommended!

And let me add that Alex makes THE BEST Clover Club cocktail! That is my cocktail of choice, and I have had many from many different places from San Diego to Colorado and now Texas. Dean’s restaurant is also top notch! I had the bone marrow, which was fabulous. The baja bass is amazing also with their yummy corn sauce! Even the bread with butter is fantastic-They put flaky salt on top of the whipped butter. Eric, my server was so personable and made my dining an experience. Absolutely fabulous! All the flavors in their dishes have layers and are multi-dimensional. And the Kimpton Hotel treats me like I’m royalty. I highly recommend this fabulous place with fabulous employees, fabulous food and drinks!

We are just simple country folks and decided to come out to the city life to celebrate my spouses birthday weekend. When we walked in just t-shirt and blue jeans I felt under dressed but I tell you what. This place has an amazing atmosphere about it. The waiters treated us like we were important city folks. Explained everything. Jordan was our main waiter and he was very helpful and awesome kept our glasses full and gave great recommendations. Hunter was our second waiter and he was great as well and had great recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing. We had a crab cake to start and some gentleman bought me and my spouse an adult beverage a piece. We went with the deans steak and the classic steak with king crab. It was so good. The old fashion I had was awesome to. Everything from the moment we stepped in to the time we left is amazing. I definitely will be back.

The interior is gorgeous and swanky, with the exposed mahogany beams and original walls of the 1800s German schoolhouse taking our breath away. Our reservation was near 7pm, and though there were other diners and usual restaurant din, the space was the right level of quiet for dinner conversations.
Helpful ReviewWe were immediately seated in a large but intimate half-circle booth and offered menus bound in soft leather. We ordered a mocktail similar to a whiskey sour (SO good I ordered 2!), oysters, a crab cake (I grew up on the southern east coast and this was the best damn crab cake I’ve ever had!!), and bone marrow to start, and followed that up with a to-die-for 8oz filet with baked mac and cheese (heavenly). My partner got his filet Dean’s style – with lobster and a bearnaise iirc – with whipped Yukon potatoes, and was more than happy. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection and so, so tender. Mine was seasoned so well I barely used the delicious wild mushroom sauce I ordered! We then opted to take a slice of chocolate cake home (happy we did, it was the perfect decadence to end the night!). Our server, Adan, was attentive, informative, and kind all night, and we could tell he was proud of this restaurant. Dean’s provides the kind of atmosphere, service, and food that leaves you dreaming of your next date night!!
