March 20, 2026 at 12:27 amColumbia University hospital cares more about profits than patient care. We had to wait over and hour just to get discharged as the travel nurses and cardiologist dont know how to communicate. A simple discharge order took an hour. Don’t come here while nurses are being treated like subhumans as you get terrible care.
Edit: we actually had to wait 2 hours just to he discharged . Even worse, the PA and the fellow both gave different information. They didnt even inform us that the reason my father-in-law had to stay overnight was because the fellow induced a mechanical arrhythmia, while doing cathertization. Completely irresponsible, they didnt even say he had an arrhythmia. Im lucky I have some medical knowledge but I wouldn’t send my dog to this hospital. They would probably discharge the dog with cat medication and follow up asking about my frog. They dont know what they are doing.

March 20, 2026 at 12:27 amThis place is awful. I had a doctor tell me to come here and they’d be calling and leaving a note in my chart as to why ibwas coming and to please be ready. I get there no one knows what’s going on. They were very rude when checking it. Sat in very uncomfortable chairs for over 3 hours before I got a bed that was in a hallway had test done on me right there no privacy at all. When I did get a private area there was a woman on there who’s monitor kept going off absolutely no one checked one her. They did the same to an elderly lady. Put here in the bed both rails up no call bell to call a nurse in. I had no call bell. There were meds on my mychart that were order and never given. They didn’t give me my daily medication leading me to have a seizure. I was given no food in my 24 hour stay till I was moves up stairs were again I had no call bell was very rarely checked on. The have one bathroom for the whole floor. I also saw them have another elderly woman sitting in a very uncomfortable wheelchair for had to be about 5 hours that I saw she was there long before i was tho.

March 20, 2026 at 12:27 amVery nice hospital – university campus! New York Presbyterian hospital and Columbia University Irving Medical Center are located in the same area which spans multiple buildings. A bit away from the city center but close enough to commute easily by trains A, C and 1.

March 20, 2026 at 12:27 amDear Patient Relations Team, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the services I recently experienced at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/Herbert Irving Pavilion. I have several serious concerns: 1. Lack of Translation Services: I do not speak English, and during my interactions with the hospital, no one offered translation assistance. When I called, I expected support to communicate effectively, but this was not provided, making it very difficult for me to understand or be understood. 2. Unauthorized Changes to My Appointment: My appointment time and doctor were changed without my knowledge or consent. I was not informed or asked for approval, which is unacceptable. 3. Switch to a Nurse Practitioner: My appointment was reassigned from a doctor to a nurse practitioner without my agreement. This change was made without any explanation or discussion with me, and I am not comfortable with it. These issues have caused me significant frustration and inconvenience. I request an explanation for why these problems occurred and what steps will be taken to address them. I also urge the hospital to ensure translation services are available for non-English-speaking patients like me in the future. Please respond to me in writing at this email address, and if needed, you can contact me at my phone number
