April 5, 2026 at 7:59 amStudents of all levels can find a class for them here. Teachers at this studio are all trained and certified in the Iyengar method, which is quite rigorous, which means they are very knowledgeable and the best able to help prevent or recover from injuries. I came to this practice to help support my emotional wellbeing after a divorce while also caring for an aging and sick parent, and this practice and community were essential in my remaining calm and present in my life. That was ten years ago and I have grown so much since then. I owe my life to this studio and these teachers. You will not regret becoming part of this community.

April 5, 2026 at 7:59 amAs a long time yoga practitioner I cannot recommend the institute enough. The instructors are well trained and personable, who guide you through your practice as well as deepen it. The space is sunny and spacious, nestled in a great Mar Vista neighborhood. It’s nice to be back on the mat in person, as it makes for a much more effective experience than online classes.
Helpful ReviewNOTE: entrance and parking is in the back, not visible from the street!

April 5, 2026 at 7:59 amI’m so grateful IYILA is back “in person” again! It’s a wonderful studio with welcoming & experienced teachers & the best yoga out there (imho, of course!)
Helpful ReviewI’m a Boomer who’s tried many types of yoga thru the yrs., & found that Iyengar is a godsend. The studio is conveniently located in Culver’s City, free parking lot, reasonable prices & a benefit to body & mind…Lots of different classes offered, in person for beginners, people at intermediate levels & really something for anyone who’s interested.
I can’t recommend enough—I’m grateful to have discovered IYILA when we moved to Santa Monica 9 yrs. ago after many yrs. in Iyengar classes back East—was worried when we moved—but honestly? Think it’s even better here—whew!

Helpful ReviewThere are classes open to all and some for specific levels of practice. Limitations and injuries are acknowledged with guidance and acceptance. Questions are openly encouraged. Classes are online video (with a few in person).
Workshops are also offered by some of the best instructors worldwide.
