Studio requires a bit of aTLC….During class, (especially since many poses require you to stare at the ceiling) it’s hard not to notice orange water rings/leak stains on the ceiling tiles. It’s distracting and takes you out of the practice. Considering what this studio charges per class, replacing a few ceiling tiles feels like a very easy fix — you can buy a case from Home Depot.

The bathrooms could also use some attention. Nothing major, but was not the cleanest.

Classes tend to be very crowded and overbooked, and I had to be careful not to kick the person behind me during certain movements, or hit the people next to me during arm exercises. When you’re constantly worrying about your neighbors, it’s hard to move with confidence. If the class were less overbooked, the flow would feel much safer and more intentional.

With the amount of people packed into the room, there were also a few not-so-pleasant smells, which made it harder to fully focus and relax.

That said, the instructor was excellent, and the teaching itself was strong. I just wish the physical space and class capacity matched the quality of the instruction, especially compared to other CorePower studios 🙂

Love love love this studio and all the instructors! I’m here multiple times a week and love the classes and community here so much. My only gripe with this studio in particular is the inconsistency of setting the vibe for class. This studio has white/grey ceilings unlike most other CP studios that have black ceilings. This makes the inside studio very bright inside, and when instructors keep the lights high the entire class instead of dimming them and/or using the LED lights it makes the class a good bit less enjoyable because the lighting feels surgical while you’re staring at your moving body in a mirror for an hour. Ruins the zen-vibe corepower tries to go for. The other thing they could do better at is keeping the music at a louder volume for yoga sculpt and choosing music that is better suited for a workout. I’ve noticed a distinct lack of bass, and could use some Beyonce-Gaga-Charli like motivation instead of quiet lyrical music while I’m doing reps and sweating out of every pore! All this being said, some instructors do a great job of this, it’s just inconsistent across the board. Still love this studio and keep coming back nevertheless, just would love to workout in a dark room with loud music instead of super quiet jazz playing in surgical lighting!

Baba is lying on the prize I won — a CorePower Yoga mat from UES. I earned it two years ago after hitting 27 C2 classes in just one month.

I went to this studio a few times circa 2022 and found it uninspired and impersonal, but could see why it might appeal to some. I decided to try it again recently and now I am convinced that corporatized yoga is a bad thing. The instructor not only seemed to be phoning it in, but used passive aggressive, exclusionary language like it was 1984. Between the careless attitude and run down studios, it’s clear that Corepower is too big to maintain any sort of consistent management or real culture. There are several independent studios nearby that invest in their staff and work to create a welcoming space. This is not one of them.

Amazing CorePower studio on the UES! My class was in studio 2, which may have been the smaller of the two, but was the perfect size for the Friday evening C2 class. The physical space is beautiful and modern, but most of all— spacious! There is nothing worse than feeling like you are tripping over other people while you try to gather your belongings post-class.
Naturally it is a brand new studio, but the bathrooms and showers are pristine! And in keeping with the theme— spacious.
You get a complimentary lock & key for your locker, all of which are medium sized. But there is also a separate area with hangers for coats (hi, NYC winter 👋🏽).
The class- any easy playful flow, with good music and even better energy. I left feeling absolutely wonderful! (Post class glow, for proof!)
It’s also worth mentioning that this particular studio lies in the “fitness section” of the UES 80’s, so there are lots of post workout refuel spots à la Sweetgreen, Just Salad, Whole Foods, Chipotle, along with the UES Levain bakery, should that be what you need.
All in all, if you are in the area— or even if you are not, this should definitely become a core part of your UES workout rotation. No pun intended!
