April 19, 2026 at 12:41 amWe hit Oz as part of date night cocktail crawl for my wife. Walked in and we definitely were oldest ones there and it was packed. We tried to get towards the back of the bar to find seats, but so packed we couldn’t get half way so we decided to ditch, but stopped at bar near the door and the bartender greeted us and told us that there were a couple seats back there, so we took a different route and made it! You find your cocktails on the menu and walk up to order. I knew that was going to be impossible. It wasn’t. The other bartender saw me waiting and took my order and we had our drinks in less than 2 minutes. Super friendly bartenders and such a cool hipster college cocktail bar vibe. Note that there is an indoor atrium you can sit at too.

Best Old Fashioned I’ve had in a long time. Balanced. Intentional. Memorable.

Although loud when the place is packed, this bar still offers a chance to chat with whoever you’re with and have some great drinks. I really enjoyed by Honey Coffee Martini, it was milder than a regular espresso martini. The Amari that I had was an interesting end to the night, definitely not for everyone! The atmosphere in here is awesome though.

We had great service from Alyssa and would highly recommend trying her drink – Gimme Flowers. A little different than my normal haunt but still very fun! Will come back, Alyssa is awesome.

It’s hard not to order the honey coffee martini every time. We went on Halloween night one year and had a free tarot reading. This bar is a must-experience for everyone in Madison.
