April 10, 2026 at 12:17 amThis week, I received my happy anniversary email for my 8 years taking classes at MHY! The studio has been the most encouraging “home” for every type of fitness experience – whether it be their pilates classes or various yoga classes.
It’s also hard to find a studio that is open 365 days a year, with almost 10 class offerings a day. A testament to the strength of the studio is that most of the instructors have been there for years (some 10+ years), and the other members have become family and friends.
The studio is clean and welcoming. I’ve even brought my parents to class. Thanks for making MHY an awesome community. Can’t wait to keep being a part of it.

April 10, 2026 at 12:17 amI have been a practitioner and sometime teacher of yoga since 1997. I started with David and Sharon Life, co- founders of Jivamukti NYC. Then I eventually progressed to Hot Yoga. So while I was staying with friends in Merrick for the holidays this seemed like a logical choice. On the surface nice studio, clean with many classes 7 days a week. As I became a little more familiar I started to look a little closer. I am a Purist, and an athlete with a strong diverse background in combat. What initially seemed like good vibes turned more into a pursuit of Aesthetics here with the Cliche de rigeur tattoos, mind you I’m not speaking in totality here but a good percentage here fits this description. Helpful Reviewis about Mind, Body and Soul, Not just Body. I was approached by a few people about self defense. I naturally reached out to the Owner about possibly teaching a theory, no hands on womens self defense class, I had just taught a Women of Wall Street seminar. I believe in being of service. No answer? To me that’s a snub. This seemed more than a community thing, especially as an outsider, it seemed more High Schoolish but with big diamond rings and luxury SUV’s. Oh the suburbs. Enjoy the Review You Earned it!

April 10, 2026 at 12:17 amI’ve only done 2 different types of the classes they offer and both were fantastic. The place is super clean the instructors are great. I enjoy the working out in heat it’s a total different mind experience. I like coming a few times a month, you’re not forced to have a membership which is perfect – if you think you’re fit, it’s a humbling experience! check your ego at the door !

April 10, 2026 at 12:17 amI took a hot Pilates class. The instructor was great and the workout would have been great (lauren 5 stars for instructor) but the studio….The room was dangerously hot. I’ve taken so many hot Pilates classes before and I’ve never been in a room this hot. I nearly had a heat stroke. I’m always able to get through hot Pilates, I run/exercise/workout. I was so focused on not passing out that I couldn’t even enjoy the workout. also they charge you five dollars to rent weights, which is absolutely absurd. I’ve never been to a studio where they charge for weights. Also, I booked the class through ClassPass and the studio still wanted me to put a credit card on file which was weird.

April 10, 2026 at 12:17 amJanet and the front desk college girls are very nice and caring. They are the only positive part of this studio experience.
Unfortunately, everything else has been disappointing. The studio has an unpleasant odor, and parking is a complete nightmare. They don’t have dedicated parking spots, and the nearby spots are usually occupied. We were late because we were driving around trying to find parking, and we were not allowed to join the class because of it. That feels very unfair when the parking situation is out of customers’ control.
On top of that, the manager made us wait 40 minutes just to speak with her. When she finally did, she was rude and spoke to us in a questioning, almost interrogating tone. Her attitude felt discriminatory and unprofessional. She also refused to give the class back to us.
Overall, very disappointing management and poor customer experience. I would not recommend this place.
PS: No, the manager placed us on a waiting because the she is showering not teaching. I’ve been in Janet’s class since last year. Her response shows clearly what kind of attitude she has.
